So preaching will never become successful if we are not enderearing ourselves with Krishna. Preaching does not depend on some techniques , otherwise we would all just learn hypnosis, then with hypnosis we could take over the world. And there are yogis like that can bring people under their will. Chant Hare Krishna. Chant Hare Krishna and look into their eyes. But we see this is not the way we want people to chant, by force. We want people to chant voluntarily. We want service to be voluntary. When Prabhupada invited us to come to the Sunday love feast. Everyone would eat so much and be totally ecstatic. And then they would go home, and Prabhupada never asked, He would till someone offered to help. Then if someone wanted to help he would make them in charge of that particular task. You’re in charge of the pots. So as soon as you extend wanting to help he would take that help. But he never forced anyone. In this way he is very expert then he captured everyone. So there are many ways, many fronts in which we can spread Krishna consciousness , in which to deal with the modes of material nature. Battle it out in the soaking rain with a kirtan party, or we can stand soaking in the rain in shoes with a bag full of books. In the street with an umbrella and invite people under the umbrella, it was an old system, the boys went out in the rain and have a big umbrella then call them over if someone was in the rain , give them a book. Like that many tricks were employed. And still you would get wet. Another system, sitting in the car, calling people over and think oh he must be asking for the road, people always want to tell the roads, and then give the books out of the car. Most would stand on the street and knock and car windows. Anyhow we have many fronts with which we can deal with people and Prabhupada was broad. He told the scientists you go and defeat the scientists and he was very eager about that and that way this movement is not stereotype , its not that there is a particular mould that everyone would have to fit into. And that everyone has to be the same, but in one way everyone must the same, we have to start taking responsibility for the Krishna consciousness of others. We may do it on our own front in the area where we are expert, whatever we are good at. If we take responsibility for the Krishna consciousness of others, if we keep ourselves preoccupied with that, then the mercy is coming. And if you don’t know what you’re good at, we’ll put you in book distribution army because that is very powerful because Prabhupada was good at that. Prabhupada was very good at taking the essence of things, from everywhere , from all the teachings of the acharays , take it together and take the spirit and bring it home to people. The essence which meant surrender to Krishna and so if you read Prabhupada’s books in so many ways he’s telling us to surrender to Krishna. When you read his books you get hit from so many different angles with the same message surrender to Krishna. Actually the real purpose is pure devotional service , actually the reason is to give up false ego , actually one should bow down before Krishna , actually humility means to do everything for Krishna and so on and so on. And finally after you’ve been reading for a while you think maybe I should surrender to Krishna, that’s what it does. So in this way all of us can do that in our own individual way. And that’s the one thing we all have in common. We are all very different. Some are intellectuals. Some are practical .It does not matter. But all of us must take responsibility for the Krishna consciousness of others.
