Without remembering Krishna we are simply controlled by the three modes of material nature which gives us endless varieties of so called pleasures and sufferings. But these experiences in the material energy are simply leading to frustration because no matter what one experiences in the material world it can never match the desire.
The desire is always greater than what we get...
Although sometimes the mind tells us:
‘No, no, this time you have attained what you are dreaming of’
After a short while we realise
‘No, it’s not true!’
Again frustrated! Therefore it is said that everyone in the material world is actually a failure!
Srila Bhaktavinoda Thakur mentions that anyone who comes to the point where he is ready to admit he is a failure, in a material sense that he has not succeeded, that person is actually ready to take up Krishna consciousness. That’s where one can make the beginning.
As long as we thinks our material life is success then we are in illusion, because the material world is not designed for that purpose.
It is not designed for happiness, it is designed for frustration!
