We have to become conscious

We must keep this transcendental vision in mind and we must convince ourselves because we are not convinced actually- we are not so convinced. So we have to make sure that we try to think deeply: why, why are we actually accepting Krsna as the Supreme Lord? Why? We have to become conscious, more aware- “why?”- these questions are answered through the scriptures; the Bhagavatam is the answer to all questions. But not just by blindly taking to the scriptures but by thinking deeply about the statements of the scriptures and thus we understand the truth through the scriptures, we understand ourselves through the scriptures and eventually we see reality through the scriptures and we realize that the only certain thing, the only thing that can give us true information about reality is sastra. And thus we are depending very much on Srimad Bhagavatam. Some people say, “oh, I’m not yet ready to read Srimad Bhagavatam!” no, everyone on the planet is ready to read Srimad Bhagavatam! Srila Prabhupada wanted Srimad Bhagavatam in every household on the planet! So don’t tell yourself, “I’m not yet ready to read Srimad Bhagavatam” that is laziness! Rather there is an urgency to read Srimad Bhagavatam. We must read it- all the twelve Cantos! “Ohhhh! So many books?” Yes, but you know, it’s not that bad; look: on one page there’s a lot of Sanskrit and then roman transliteration of the saying, word for word, then the verse translation…most of the page is already gone! So it’s not as bad as you think it is! It’s not like a book full of fine print. So it reads relatively fast. So there are 355 chapters; so if we read a chapter a day then we can finish it in a year! That’s a good idea! And then we have ten days holiday! We can read Caitanya caritamrta for 10 days, or Bhagavad Gita! Or do some extra chanting!
