For Krishna, we renounce so many things. Yes first it is clear: no meat fish or eggs, no gambling, no intoxication, no illicit sex...that is easy because that is very clear. It is yes or no. Am I following three principles or four, it is clear, that’s clear. Am I chanting sixteen rounds or ten or twelve or eleven or what, it is clear, it is measurable. But once that initial part of devotional service is there and once we are following those standards then comes the difficult part. Because then we have to develop the qualities of a pure devotee, then we have to be ready to make sacrifice for Krishna. (Kadamba Kanana Swami 30/08/2009)
