| That kirtan is echoing all over the world! Posted: 28 Feb 2012 03:29 PM PST (H H Kadamba Kanana Swami, November 2011, Mayapur) Lecture: Caitanya-caritāmṛta part 10 Sometimes Lord Caitanya would manifest Himself through a devotee. He would manifest His qualities, and we could see that Srila Prabhupada manifested so many qualities……….and in that way Prabhupada gave it like an echo – like a fresh push…. and now it's echoing again.it's still echoing – that kirtan, all over the world! Just the purity of Prabhupada's kirtan is so incredible that, whether he just sings the Sri Sri Sad-goswamy-astaka or chants the Hare Krishna maha mantra, it's just completely straightforward, simple, pure, adoration, beautiful but no unnecessary alaṅkāra or decoration. Actually, there is some decoration, since sometimes on the harmonium he does a few fancy things but not overly. And then you get the first kirtan echoing from his disciples, which is intensely spiritual, just like the Goddess of fortune records that still stands out. There is something about it – isn't it? Or am I the only one who thinks so? Then again some people like the Goddess of fortune and some go for Michael Cassidy. I think that the Goddess of fortune echoed very much the simplicity and the direct mood of worship that Prabuhpada had without too much artistic liberty or anything!  Rating: 0.0/7 (0 votes cast) |
