Chanting without offense Part 2 Posted: 03 Sep 2011 08:00 AM PDT (Kadamba Kanana Swami, Finland, 2011) A mood of humility; a mood of respect; respect for the vaisnavas; respect for the Vedas; respect for the Spiritual Master; respect for the deities. In this way one can through the chanting, approach Krishna because, 'Nāhaṁ prakāśaḥ sarvasya yoga-māyā-samāvṛtaḥ' [Bg. 7.25] Krishna says that: "I remain covered by the yoga maya energy and unless I reveal myself, I cannot be known. That is the situation." So when Krishna is pleased with our attitude of humility, and our respectful attitude towards Guru, Sadhu and śāstras, then Krishna will reveal himself. So this is an important element in the chanting!
"If I have chanted one million names, than surely Krishna will reveal Himself!" There's no such thing, since Krishna reveals Himself whenever He desires….whenever He is pleased. So in this way the chanting of the Holy name is an intimate interaction with Supreme Personality of Godhead! |

Oslo’s temple is a nice little woodhouse, blessed by the presence of Sri Sri Gaura Gadadhara. Maharaja gave the morning lectures and attended various programs. On Saturday he went to a Yoga-club where a nice program was held with bhajanas from Govinda Prabhu, who was also visiting directly from Vrindavana, and a nice talk from Maharaja. The next day the Sunday feast took place in the temple. Maharaja presented the topic of how Krsna consciousness is the best solution for solving material distress. All in all it was a short but inspiring stay. Enjoy the pictures! If you cannot view the slideshow, please visit flickr. |

The main guests were Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva and Lady Subhadra, accompanied by the German Sankirtana Gaura Nitai Deities. The bhajanas of course were out of this world, held for at least twelve hours every day and led by world-famous kirtaneers like Lokanatha Maharaja, B.B. Govinda Maharaja, Sacinandana Maharaja and Kadamba Kanana Maharaja, just to mention a few. If you want to find out more about the kirtana mela you can visit the official website or watch it life on Mayapur TV! Enjoy the pictures!
