(full transcript)
Srila Bhakti Siddhanta pointed out that if we publish a newspaper about a small town here and there is nothing new. But about Krishna there is unlimited information so there really isn’t no need for anything else. One can just find out more about Krishna and there is still more to find out - -it’s not the same old news that you have to chew for a few days! There’s really always something new about Krishna.
So if we just look at that and just make it more and more famous, whatever we know about Krishna just share it with others and spread the fame and the Glories of Krishna- then automatically everybody will become enlivened. This is Krishna consciousness: Sharing the Glories of Krishna, the Name of Krishna, Prasadam, food stuffs offered to Krishna and that’s what we will really taste in life - - and everything else what taste do you get?
If you read that news of the day whatever it is called...the dog paper! Something like that! If you read that dog paper, that’s what it is, it’s just about dogs: That dog and that dog, you know dogobama barks again! ....
The truth of the matter is that people are indeed concerned with doggish things, taking this junk and that junk, doggish things.
But Krishna consciousness is very nice, every word is purifying us, every word is uplifting us, everyword is liberating us , every word is destroying suffering.
If we have a problem with the material world and we say that there is too much suffering , every word of Krishna consciousness kicks it away!
We say: ”but it doesn’t work I tried ,”
No just like a medicine you take it and say “oh it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, it makes it worse”
Doctor will say “No No just keep taking it and it it will work, it will work”
So if we carry on with this chanting of Hare Krishna and hearing about Krishna it will destroy all suffering!

We Need To Experience Joy To Have Compassion!
Kadamba Kanana Swami:
(partial transcript) Devotees must be saintly. It's nice to put tilak, neck beads, lots of saffron or other things - it doesn't make one saintly. All the externals don't make us saintly.
We must really become the well wisher of all living beings. So that is bringing up the topic of compassion. But how can you have compassion for other living beings, how can you really be the well wisher of other living beings and care for them?....

Kirtan Madness In Soho Temple! 2010
Kadamba Kanana Swami: "The wealth of the spiritual world is that everyone in great love and ecstasy is chanting the names of Krishna and then taking Prasadam; and we’re doing the same, thus I could see that the process and the goal are the same - Lord Chaitanya gave us the perfect process!
Even The Dim Reflection Is So Powerful!
Naamabaas - chanting the Holy Name, not in a pure state, but rather chanting trying to avoid offenses,
but still making offenses due to inability to avoid the offenses totally - at that state the Holy Name will not be fully manifested, but only a dim reflection of the Holy Name.
That alone is already so powerful that it will take away immediately all fear from the heart, all sinful reactions will disappear and one is relieved from karma!

We Need The Blessings! (part 2)
(Kadamba Kanana Swami
01/2010 Soho London)
(2nd half transcript- it begins 1min 50secs):
It is said that for example Haridas Thakur was whipped in twenty two market places and these brutal men who were beating him, they were just going on with full force and just whipping him. So Lord Chaitanya it is described, when Lord Chaitanya saw that He was rushing to that place with raised Sudarsana Chakra and ready for action and just then Haridas prayed: “My Dear lord please be merciful upon these persons, please don’t, don’t give them any reaction for these activities.”
Lord Chaitanya thought to Himself: “..What am I going to do? what to do now”
He was shaking His head, you know and then He decided to place His own back over the back of Haridas Thakur and He took all the whippings of those muslims on His back.
And later during the Mahaprakesh Lila when Lord Chaitnaya revealed Himself - one day He turned round and said: “You remember Haridas, you remember how you were whipped, remember how you didn’t feel any pain”
“Yeah, it was amazing, I remember”
“Remember Haridas that then you prayed forgiveness for those brutal animals.”
“Yes Yes I remember”
"Then what could I do I would have killed them…then I placed my own back over yours and I took the beatings”
And then Lord Chaitanya turned around and showed His back and all the marks of the beating were there! And Haridas was “Oh no!” and he just fainted.
So how kind is the Lord and how powerful are the blessings and prayers of a Vaishnava.
(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 01/2010 Soho London)
We Need The Blessings! (part1)
(Kadamba Kanana Swami

(1st half transcript)
We are taking as lot of inspiration from Nanda maharaja, his devotion and his faith, his faith is strengthening our faith. That is important here. He has firm faith in the brahmanas. And it is said that everyone requires blessings. So this point of requiring blessings is very important. One should always seek blessings. This is Vaishnava culture. Blessings, blessings from devotees, blessings from the Lord, blessings from holy places, looking for lots of blessings. Life is about collecting blessings we need them. We need them.
It is said that actually the blessings of the vaishnava are a greater factor in our spiritual progress than our own endeavours. Not that we should then: “Ok I stop doing anything myself I will just look for blessings”
No not like that but whatever our endeavours may bring is multiplied many times by the blessings of the devotees.
It is logical because superior vaishnavas they have purchased Krishna by their service and they have Krishna in their hands. So if they want us to get the mercy of Krishna, how can they not give. When he looks at us he thinks like well: “ Shall I give him or not, ...that wasn’t very sincere”
But when he is thinking of such devotees who are totally sincere and they glance upon us and pray “Krishna please give the mercy” and what can He do!

Lord Nityananda's Cooling effect!
So it's very interesting, the description of how Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda are like the sun and moon appearing simultaneously.
The nature of the sun is to light, the main nature of the sun is that it brings the light of day, whereas in relation to Lord Nityananda, the quality of the moon that is particularly described is the quality of being cooling.
The light of the moon is very cooling and it is said (Sanskrit) that the cooling effect of Lord Nityananda's lotus feet is like millions of moons that can cool down the burning agitation of the material energy upon the heart of the living entity. So in that way, Lord Nityananda in particular has this cooling effect!
We also see in the 7th canto of Bhagavatam how Lord Krsna is the one who gives transcendental knowledge, and then that it is Balarama who gives the strength by which one can follow transcendental knowledge. So in order to get spiritual strength, one first has to become calmed down - the agitation in one's heart has to cool down!
Therefore Lord Nityananda helps us by cooling down the agitation in the heart.

Krishna Is Everything And A Cowherd Boy!
Kadamba Kanana Swami:
One pastime that I like very much is when Krsna eats dirt. I like it so much because of course Mother Yashoda looks in His mouth and sees the entire universe there and that is quite amazing - that the universe is within Krsna who at the same time is within the universe - that is something really extraordinary!
He is within the universe very much, with us, and yet at the same time the universe is within Him, so how is this possible? By the laws of nature, it is not! By logic, it's not, but it's happening, and He shows it to Mother Yashoda right there and then!
She sees it is the real universe because when she looks in His mouth and she sees Krsna in that universe, she sees herself looking into the mouth of Krsna, and in that universe, again Krsna and again herself, again Krsna and again herself in so many universes and in that way: Mother Yashoda is totally amazed!

Vaikuntha / Goloka
Devotee's Question: If there is no yogamaya in Vaikuntha, what kind of love is there?
Kadamba Kanana Swami:
Well, there is a very deep and respectful mood. I mean, it should not be taken cheaply, obviously. It is said that the ladies in Vaikuntha are also everyday sweeping the palaces, although there is no dust. There's no dust in these palaces and still they sweep them everyday for the pleasure of Krsna.
So, it may be difficult for us to fully appreciate because the love of God of the residents of Vaikuntha is greater than anything we experience in our heart at this point, at least, I speak for myself. Therefore it's hard to fully fathom their depth of love, but it is genuine love, because, just as it's mentioned about the gopis, it's all for the pleasure of Krsna. So it's definitely love, but then again, it doesn't have the same element of raas that is there in Golok.

Krishna's Intimate Exchanges
When Krsna and all the cowherd boys are in the forest imitating the sounds of animals, it is not that activity in itself that is the source of enjoyment, but it is the exchange within that particular activity between the cowherd boys and Krsna that is the essence.
When Krsna and all the cowherd boys are imitating the sounds of all the animals Krsna is enjoying these activities very much. He is especially enjoying it because of sharing it with the cowherd boys...
Krsna is producing the sounds of all the animals in the forest of Vrindavan - it is mentioned in "The Nectar of Devotion" that Krsna is speaking the language of all the animals...
As He is having pastimes with the cowherd boys, He is simultaneously sharing with the animals in the forest.

27 Parikramas, 3 Mandals and so many Sunday feasts!
The whole principle of devotional service is that devotional service is never a mechanical process where one does so many rounds or one performs an x number of Parikramas and well, so many plates of prasadam taken, and that at the end of life, we have a little notebook, and at the gates of the spiritual world we pull it out, like a passport!
(Maharaja mimics a person speaking in a self-righteous tone:)
"27 full Govardhan parikramas right. 3 Vraja mandals, a couple of Navadvipa mandals" you know, like, so many Sunday feasts, and everything is recorded there and it's like our passport!
Well, I don't know, it might help, a little book like that - still, the Lord doesn't count like that! He really looks at the heart and He sees that a devotee is really making sacrifices, is really going out of his way for the pleasure of the Lord.
Like we read in the Adi Lila chapter 4 about the internal mood of the Lord and there the mood of the gopis is described and it is very nice, because it is said that pure love is that, that even though there are so many good reasons to give it up, one still doesn't give it up - that's pure love.
So that is very nice. So the gopis, they had that mood, and that's a devotee's mood, you know:
In spite of struggle, in spite of everything, got to continue this service!

He Will Definitely Accept Our Service!
The most important point in the pastime of Putana is really this:
Putana was delivered in spite of her demoniac mentality. And this is really a basis for us to develop great faith because we also know that we are disqualified and so often we think:
"Will Krsna even accept my offerings? Will Krsna take any of my service seriously, considering that I am so full of disqualification?"
The answer is given by Krsna. Krsna has already suspected our mentality! Krsna has already understood our mood, and has responded to it. And this is the nature of Krsna's pastimes - that within the pastimes there are many messages that Krsna is giving us, and these messages are very wonderful, because here the message is that even if we are thoroughly disqualified, even if we are under the influence of lust, even if we are envious, even if we are always burdened by our false ego - what to do ? That is the reality - day after day, we carry it like a burden. Nonetheless, Krsna will surely accept our service!
He accepted the service of Putana, He will definitely accept our service and He will definitely bestow His mercy upon us. Therefore, with great faith, we can can continue approaching Krsna. With great faith we can continue realising that false ego, it will not hamper us from making advancement, because advancement is made by the mercy of Krsna, and
surely we will get the mercy if even Putana did!

Building Up Our Sincerity
Kadamba Kanana Swami
Sincerity - the day that we come to the temple and say that from this day onward:
"My dear Lord Krsna, I will try to be your devotee"
we are not thoroughly sincere, and the days after, as we are continuing, as we are learning, we are finding that our statement of:
"Today I will be your devotee"
is not so easy.
Then we begin to realise that our sincerity was not so deep. Although we were sincere, we find that our sincerity was not that deep, because we were being confronted with many situations where we were called to surrender, but we just couldn"t do it.
So again and again we meet ourselves and we recognise that there is some insincerity in us also along with sincerity, and that we are living with both at this point.

Jaya Radha Madhava - Radhadesh 2010
Srila Prabhupada was very fond of this song and sang it just before his lectures. In Allahabad and Gorakhpur Srila Prabhupada fell into a trance after singing the first two lines, and after some time he came back into external consciousness and said, "Now just chant Hare Krsna." Srila Prabhupada said that this song is "a picture of Vrndavana. Everything is there -- Srimati Radharani, Vrndavana, Govardhana, Yasoda, and all the cowherd boys
"Krsna is the lover of Radha. He displays many amorous pastimes in the groves of Vrndavana, He is the lover of the cowherd maidens of Vraja, the holder of the great hill named Govardhana, the beloved son of mother Yasoda, the delighter of the inhabitants of Vraja, and he wanders in the forests along the banks of the River Yamuna."

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada (Vid!)
Kadamba Kanana Swami: "Srila Prabhupada, he is still bringing people, still capturing more and more people. This movement has not reached it’s full momentum yet. It is just sort of starting. It is like Prabhupada has pushed something which is now rolling down the mountain and catching more and more speed and taking more and more along in it’s course!"
We Must Always Glorify Krishna!
If we want to go fast, if we really want to go quickly to Krsna, then we must fill the maximum amount of time, we must use the maximum amount of our energy simply for glorifying Krsna.
That can be done in many ways - it can be done by energy, can be done by possessions, can be done by intelligence, can be done by wit -
but somehow or other, we must always glorify Krsna!!!

Make The Heart A Suitable Place
Kadamba Kanana Swami
Vasudev conceived of the Lord in his pure consciousness and then transferred that pure consciousness to Devaki, whose heart was prepared to receive the Supreme Lord. This is described as the process of diksha or initiation. This is how the mercy of the Lord is transferred from one person to another - this is how Krsna Consciousness actually spread - from the pure consciousness of one person, transmitted through transcendental knowledge. Then the heart becomes purified and then that transcendental knowledge can actually enter into the heart.

Namacarya Haridasa Thakura was absorbed in nirantara krsna nama sankirtana, chanting the holy name incessantly. We do not have that level of love for Krsna, to always chant His name. So we also need other engagement in devotional service. So the quality of our chanting will come back in the quality of our service and the quality of our service comes back in our chanting. When we regularly do some nice service for Krsna, then gradually our whole experience of chanting will change, our life will change, our service will increase in quality and quantity, and we will come to the inspired stage of chanting.

City of Nine Gates- Part 1
Recently in Radhadesh, HH Kadamba Kanana Swami Maharaja, gave a 3- day lecture dealing with the story of King Puranjana. www.kkswami.com will feature transcripts of these classes. Here is an excerpt from part 1:
In ISKCON ’69 it sounded far out. In ISKCON ’79, it was the reality- ‘we’re gonna take over the world!’ And Prabhupada said if you’re all pure we can do it in 18 days and because we’re not pure it may take a little longer...that was’79! In ISKCON ’89, shoo, everyone was getting tired, you know, ‘so long we already trying to take over the world and still not working! Can we have a vacation?’ In ISKCON ’99, everyone was like, ‘what in the world are they talking about? Taking over the world? I mean let’s just try and sort out our own life!’ and ISKCON 2009...you can all tell me what we have to say about it all because I don’t know! So with that I’m inviting your comments, realisations, or whatever to this lecture...

THE REAL SECRET - CONQUER KRISHNA !!!
Kadamba Kanana Swami
So when we get so close to the drop we feel the power of maya is pulling at us. So what do we do at that stage and one feels very weak?
Sometimes devotees at that stage in full knowledge of the philosophy of Krishna consciousness and being fully attracted, appreciating the beauty of the Deities and of Krishna are still finding themselves very close to maya and fall down.
So how to save ourselves at that time? This is my question I want to present here.

They're gonna get YOU!!!
We’re all experiencing the higher nature and the lower nature and every devotee is going through that fight, that the lower nature is drawn to the material energy. (Dramatic) ‘We know it’s Maya; take it away, I don’t want it!’ But meanwhile it’s very much there! It’s in everyone and no one is exempt! Even the demigods are not exempt, they have it too, what to speak of human beings! Human beings very much have a lower nature and this lower nature is strong. This lower nature is just, (dramatic wild voice) ‘Ag! Ag! What do you care! Ag! Come on, you know! Don’t be a square! Just go for it, you know what I mean! Like, just switch off that mind and JUST DO IT!!! Do what you really feel! Be real! Be YOU! Be like GENUINE! Be the one you really are! Follow your heart! Don’t let anything stop you! Live the real life- you might suffer a little bit- but at least you can say you lived to the fullest extent! Yes! Are you ready? Yes, c’mon, let’s go! Get moving, don’t waste any time!’
So of course, it doesn’t quite work out like that...At the first attempt of going on the wild side...BANG! SLAP! BANG- another one! Yes! You think you’re going out there to enjoy? Oh, there are sharks and crocodiles waiting for you! And they’re gonna get you, they will exploit you...they will, somehow or other!

Do Something To Save The World
We have to get out of the comfort zone and do something to present Krishna consciousness to the world, because the world is on fire and we can not just sit in our own temples and expect that that fire will not effect our temples. It will. The world is on fire.

Manifesting His Energy Into Another Being
Nakula Bramachari became empowered by the Supreme Lord and the Supreme Lord manifested Himself in Nakula Bramachari and suddenly Nakula Bramachari began to show the same qualities of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He became effulgent. He developed extraordinary symptoms of love of God. Sometimes he was acting like a madman, confused, tears were rolling from his eyes and sometimes he was just so ecstatic that everyone was amazed!
So sometimes, Lord Caitainya, in order to preach Krsna Consciousness, is manifesting Himself in another person and this is called the Aveshya of the Lord when He is manifesting His energy into another being.

Will Dry Up
"Unless we see devotional service in the context of Shri Caitainya Mahaprabhu, it will not be complete. Devotional service in this age has to centre around Harinam sankirtan, around distributing love of God, and any type of service that does not include that spirit, will dry up."

Inconceivable Intensity of Separation
Kadamba Kanana Swami
To fully understand the intensity of the exchanges between Radha and Krishna is only possible for one whom himself is capable of deep loving experiences and prior to that everything remains philosophy. Philosophy is nice in the sense that through philosophy we can possibly logically understand things that are beyond our experience , but the full experience can not be had. Therefore it is said that we are in the present state reading something about the exchanges between Radha and Krishna to get an idea of how advanced Love of God really is – but at the same time we can not experience the intensity.
It is explained that Srimati Radharani and the other Gopis are, in the evening time, hearing the flute being played by Krishna. When Krishna plays His flute, Venu, Krishna has different flutes, Venu is a small flute with nine holes – it is said that this flute is then attracting the Gopis, the flute is calling – and they leave everything and meet Krishna in the dead of night! ...

Devotee Pleases Krishna - Krishna Pleases Devotee
Krsna's pastimes are unlimited and centering around the relationship with His devotees. Krsna is always absorbed in remembering His devotees and the devotee is always remembering Krsna, and both are experiencing deep emotional attraction to one another. In this way devotional service is a personal process, never a mechanical one.
We can understand from the pastimes of Krsna that devotional service is not a process of washing the heart from all the dirt, but rather that it is a matter of pleasing Krsna by our service, and Krsna will make all the arrangements. Krsna takes away all the impurities from the heart. It is Krsna, and whenever Krsna is pleased, then He will reveal something within our heart.
Therefore, the devotee is always acting for the pleasure of Krsna and Krsna is always acting for the pleasure of the devotee!

We are Residents of the Age Of Kali!
Kadamba Kanana Swami
It is paticularly in the combined efforts of the Vaishnavas that we can overcome our conditioning......
We should not forget that we are residents of the age of Kali, there is no doubt about it (Sanskrit) slow intelligence. Slow intelligence! Why slow intelligence? Because although we know that we should surrender to Krishna we don't do it - that's why we are slow in intelligence! Although we have heard of all the arguments, although we accept it is true still we are not doing; so this is unintelligence, still we are not acting upon it - therefore slow in applying our intelligence.
Lazy, misfortunate, this is the age where the whole world is misfortunate. It is amazing how many people are suffering from disease, deformation and all kinds of afflictions upon their bodies or minds - the whole world is just full of it! ...

Not a day should go by without association of devotees!
We should be close as a group because together and only together can we actually create that atmosphere where we always remember Krishna. It can not be done alone! The spiritual master of Srila Prabhupada: Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakur spoke out strongly in saying that: Who are you, what kind of Vaishnava are you trying to perform bhajan and worship of the Lord in solitude.
That does not work , that does not apply. It is paticularly in the combined efforts of the Vaishnavas that we can overcome our conditioning......
It is the dynamics of serving Krishna together that gives us the strength - therefore we rely on the temple and on the association in the temple, the atmosphere in the temple and so on, that will carry us.
Because alone, alone with the philosophy, alone with the Holy Name , alone with the Srimad Bhagavatam and alone with our mind ....then what choice to make ? Right?
Bhagavatam or the mind? Alone with the senses very difficult , very difficult.
So (Sanskrit) only possible with the association of the Vaishnavas, so therefore we should seek that out.
It is by being with the devotees that we are getting that strength and not a day should go by without association of devotees!

Surrender- Part 3
Spiritual life can also be compared to driving and we start in our spiritual life, driving in the night. So in the night when it’s pitch dark, you can’t see anything and all you do is you’re just driving on the white lines on the side of the road- striped lines on the road. Those white lines, just watching them; your eyes are all the time going to the line and you’re trying to stay within the lines and you don’t see anything. You have a little bit of head lights but you don’t see much. That’s how spiritual life is in the beginning. So in the beginning we are very focused on the regulations and we have some light of hearing and chanting but the light doesn’t reach very far. But then as we are making spiritual advancement and while driving, gradually the day breaks; the light comes through and we suddenly begin to see that there is a whole landscape out there. We’re driving and we still stay between the lines but we also see the whole landscape of Krsna consciousness. And we see that there are so many varieties of wonderful tastes and experiences in that landscape of Krsna consciousness. So in the beginning it’s narrow but gradually our vision of what Krsna consciousness is increases and we realise that actually it’s not narrow; it’s unlimited! It is full of all kinds of varieties and gradually, by Krsna’s mercy, we become empowered. We gradually become empowered...

Surrender Part 2
So this is spiritual life; we don’t have to worry. It is not that we have to build a staircase to heaven and then ascend the staircase and somehow or other reach. Or it doesn’t mean that by our own power and our own strength we have to figure it all out how to get there and then get there; no, we have to simply take shelter of Krsna and Krsna will make all the arrangements. And as Krsna was making plans in the life of Uddhava, Krsna is also taking care of us and making all the arrangements. And He has a plan, He has it all figured out; we cannot see and we’re thinking, ‘Oh, I’m left alone here to battle and to struggle, and it’s so difficult. I am fighting here with the material energy and it is so hard, so hard this fight with the material energy- prakrti sthani karsati- the struggle with the material energy. The struggle with survival- so tough- and somehow or other in the midst of that struggle I have to be Krsna conscious and it’s difficult and I don’t know how to do it!!! Will I be successful?’ Hmmm....everything we need will be provided! Just at the right time Krsna will arrange and He will send us someone. He will make an arrangement; somehow or other He will create circumstances that will make everything favourable for us....

Perfection of Life
To have no other object, no other thought than thinking of Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, always - to somehow or other do everything for Krishna: This is really the perfection of life. This movement is not an ordinary movement at all...
Bhakti yoga is a process that attracts the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is service to the Supreme Lord and that service captures the heart of the Supreme Lord...
It is a personal relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore whatever happens in Krishna Consciousness is never ordinary and one knows one is directly dealing with Krishna who is personally interfering with our life and personally making all kinds of adjustments, arrangements and this is what we are actually perceiveing in our devotional service.
The more one is coming to this point of thinking about the Supreme Lord without deviation the more the Lord will reciprocate!
