Being flooded with mercy!

Krishna is waiting in the heart for us to turn to Him, and when Krishna sees a little bit of inclination in any living entity towards devotional service, then immediately He showers that living being with mercy! But Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu didn't even consider that. Caitanya Mahaprabhu thought that:

'Even if there is no inclination towards service, then somehow or other I'll give them the mercy anyway!'

And suddenly, everywhere people began to chant the Holy name of the Lord! So this chanting of the Hare Krishna maha mantra is the main means by which one can access the mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. One devotee said:

'I cannot chant anymore. I just have no taste for it.'

All right taste or no taste, it's an ocean of mercy, even if it's a little bit of austerity, then one is just being flooded with the mercy. At first the mercy of Lord Caitanya remains covered, after all he is the 'channāvatāra' – the hidden avatar, because only to His intimate devotees, He is manifesting Himself as the Supreme Lord!
